Claude skill

Download the emelia-api skill, one SKILL.md that teaches Claude the Emelia API, its rules and its traps, so the code it writes works the first time.

A skill is a folder of instructions that Claude loads when a task needs it. The emelia-api skill gives Claude what an experienced Emelia developer knows: the base URLs, the endpoints that matter, how contacts are mapped, how a campaign sequence is built, how to poll enrichment jobs, and the mistakes that fail silently.

Install

  1. Download emelia-api.zip. Do not unzip it.
  2. In Claude, open Customize, Skills.
  3. Click +, then Create skill, then Upload a skill, and select the zip.
  4. The skill appears in your list, switched on.

Skills need code execution to be enabled in your Claude settings. Skills you add to your Claude account are also available in Claude Code when you sign in with that account.

What it covers

  • Authentication, base URLs, the three rules of the Emelia model.
  • The 30 calls you use most, in one table.
  • How contact keys are mapped, and how duplicates and updates work.
  • The campaign step tree: IDs, versions, conditions, variables, HTML bodies.
  • The campaign rules that cause most failures: pause before editing, required settings, replaced arrays.
  • Enrichment jobs, polling and credits.
  • Webhooks, errors, rate limits, pagination.
  • Safety: confirm before sending, deleting or spending credits.

Use it

Ask Claude for what you want to build, in your words:

Write a Python script that reads leads.csv and loads it into my Emelia list "Q4 SaaS founders",
100 contacts per call, updating the contacts that already exist, and prints the rows that failed.

Claude reads the skill when the task involves the Emelia API. For anything the skill does not detail, it is told to read the Markdown pages of this documentation.

Skill or MCP server?

The skill teaches Claude to write code against the API. The MCP server lets Claude act in your account directly. They work well together.
